The Consorzio Impianti a Fune Val Gardena - Alpe di Siusi was founded in 1971 as a concrete response to a shared need: joining forces to make the mountains more accessible, organised and alive. A legacy that has its roots in the post World War II period, when the development of the lifts and the passion for skiing began to transform the economy and identity of the valley. After the 1970 World Championships, Erich Demetz's intuition to propose a single ticket gave way to a new form of cooperation. Today, the Consortium represents not only a system of mobility on snow, but a model of collective management that continues to improve the territory, the communities and the Dolomite landscape all year round.
Coordination and quality
The Consorzio Impianti a Fune Val Gardena - Alpe di Siusi is the organisational heart of one of the most advanced ski areas in the Dolomites. It brings together 41 companies, coordinated to guarantee a safe, efficient and quality experience every day.
Ski pass and earnings
The consortium organises and manages the sale of ski passes in the winter and the ticket office during the summer, guaranteeing a centralised and transparent system.
Safety, assistance and accessibility
The ski area coordinates facilities and ski resorts to guarantee safety, assistance and accessibility. The Consortium works together with rescuers and police forces to protect skiers, making the mountains accessible to everyone: children, people with disabilities and enthusiasts.
Roles: snow groomers, snowmaking technicians, slope safety officers
Their tasks: They prepare, maintain and control the quality and safety of the slopes on a daily basis, working on snow, signposting, cross-country skiing and tracks.
Roles: ropeway drivers, maintenance technicians, service chiefs
Their tasks: They manage the operation, maintenance and technical control of chairlifts, gondolas and ski lifts to ensure their safety and continuity, as well as constantly building new lifts and expanding existing ones.
Roles: administrative, customer care, operational planners
Their tasks: They coordinate the Consortium's activities, manage customers and ski passes, organise construction sites, budgets and day-to-day operations, and record all data using state-of-the-art hardware and software.
