Our History

A collaboration born to grow together.

A shared history, rooted in the mountains

The Consorzio Impianti a Fune Val Gardena - Alpe di Siusi was founded in 1971 with a defined goal: joining forces to grow togetherand offering an organised, accessible and quality mountain experience. In an area full of autonomous, often family-run businesses, the choice to collaborate was revolutionary. The companies, while maintaining their own identity, chose to build a common system, capable of overcoming geographical and cultural differences.

From the very beginning, the Consortium has worked to coordinate and support the work of each member company. From ticketing management to lift maintenance, from piste rescue to staff training, each activity is designed to offer a consistent, safe and professional service in all locations in the valley and on the Alpe di Siusi.

A committed community that keeps things running all year round

Today the Consortium counts 41 companies and represents a virtuous model of cooperation: every facility, every slope, every service is part of a mechanism that works 365 days a year. Not only skiing: behind the scenes, there are snow groomer drivers, technicians, maintainers and stewards who guarantee the quality of the experience in every season. The mountain, for us, is a daily responsibility.

Coordination between companies makes it possible to deal efficiently with every aspect of management: from tourism promotion to the adoption of new technologies, from the management of our guests to the quality of customer service.

The roots of the Consortium

The culture of collaboration goes back a long way. Already in the post-war period, the Gardena/Gröden ski organisation had shown a united spirit, capable of enhancing the valley as a whole. A turning point was the 1970 Alpine Skiing World Championshipsbrought to Val Gardena by Erich Demetza key figure in the history of the Consortium. From there, the need for more structured coordination became evident, and in 1971 the association that would later give birth to the Consortium took shape.

The first lift between Ortisei and the Alpe di Siusi dates back to 1935: a historical link that, over time, has consolidated into a natural collaboration between two complementary regions, united by a common vision.

Our role in Dolomiti Superski

In 1974, the Val Gardena - Alpe di Siusi Consortium contributed to the creation of the Dolomiti Superski, an innovative project uniting several ski resorts under one ski pass. The idea was simple but revolutionary: allow skiers to move freely between the Dolomite valleys, following only the pleasure of skiing and the beauty of the landscape.

Our consortium was one of the founders of this system and, even today, is the largest among the 12. The spirit of collaboration that gave birth to Dolomiti Superski continues to guide our work, with the aim of offering a broad, integrated experience that always lives up to expectations.
